International conferences

The Conferences aim at raising awareness of an ageing society/demographic changes as well as the role of human capital (LLL, HRD, etc.), promoting innovative actions for adapting cities/regions to the needs of older people, discussing framework conditions for knowledge development in the regions, developing transnational cooperation and networks between training, labour market institutions and economic drivers (SMEs, clusters, etc.) and fostering (cross-border) cooperation of SMEs. Exchange and mutual learning from innovative approaches (highlighting practices and results achieved) will be promoted and links generated to all actions undertaken within the project as well as to other networks such as the European Age Management Network, the ‘CENTROPEInitiative’, etc. Results of the CE-Ageing Platform will feed into the CE-Age Strategy.

  • 3rd International Conference 2013: Italy, Rome (10 October 2013)
"At the hearth of an ageing continent: Perspectives and strategies for active ageing in Central Europe"

The Third International Conference is the final event of the project Central European Knowledge Platform for an Ageing Society (CE-Ageing Platform). The aim of this event is to raise the awareness about the challenges faced by population ageing. These challenges refer to the low labour force participation of particular age groups, the need for modifications with regard to governance systems, in particular the pension, social and health and care systems, changes in family structures as well as the need for a better integration of migrants. These challenges are also associated with growing inequality across Central Europe as well as within CE regions.

The October's final conference, held in the Hotel Quirinale (, gives the opportunity to present the project outcomes (inkl. Green Paper CE-Ageing Strategy) as well as ensures exchanges of good practices and innovations among partners countries.

Find here the agenda of the final international conference, venue of the conference - Hotel Quirinale and recommended hotels closed to the venue.
The conference will be on-line streamed.  For more information and registration, please contact the event's organisers/ISFOL:
